Privacy policy
Last updated: 19 October 2026
This policy covers trends.chriscodesstuff.com ("What Worked This Week"). It explains what personal data the site collects, why, and what your rights are.
Who I am
The data controller is Thorpe Contracting Ltd, trading as Chris Codes Stuff, a company registered in England & Wales. You can contact me at chris@chriscodesstuff.com.
What I collect and why
Your email address, the wording of the consent box you ticked, and the time you signed up. I use it to send you the weekly report and occasional updates about it. The legal basis is your consent. I keep it until you unsubscribe. After that I keep your address marked as unsubscribed, so I never email you again by mistake.
One cookie, called wwtw, which remembers that you've signed up so the report opens without asking again. It contains no personal data, only the value "1", and lasts a year. It's strictly necessary for the service you asked for. I don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
Who handles your data for me
- Amazon Web Services hosts the site, stores the subscriber list (London region) and sends the emails.
- Cloudflare runs the domain's DNS.
Some providers may process data outside the UK, under the safeguards UK data protection law requires. I don't sell your data or share it with anyone else, except where the law requires it.
About the report's content
The report discusses public Instagram posts and links to them on Instagram. It quotes, at most, the opening line of a caption, and it doesn't republish anyone's images or videos. If you're a creator and want a post left out, email me and I'll remove it.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask me to correct or delete it, restrict or object to how I use it, or move it elsewhere. You can withdraw consent at any time: every email has an unsubscribe link. Email chris@chriscodesstuff.com and I'll respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If I change this policy, I'll update the date at the top. If I make material changes to how I use subscriber data, I'll email subscribers.
